The reason I love all yoga teachers very much is that they don’t have time for regrets in the past. Sure, we’re all human, we have moments we’re not proud of, but yoga teaches us that it is ok to have a history with dark memories. It is ok to feel, to mourn a loss, and to analyze despair, fear, and failure.

Our present life of isolation and virtual communication is drawing us further and further away from social human interactions in real time.

My love for my yoga instructors are huge. They taught me that even though we may feel alone in this world, our community brings us back together. In practice, we become a collective group of breath, trying to be awake for life’s signals.

I find all my yoga teachers very ambitious in their goals and dreams. They move us forward to flow and propel us students in joining a collective growth.

My partner and I went on our first yoga retreat in 2018, and I can’t imagine my life without one of these trips every year.

Have you ever felt the energy shared when you’re being productive working alone or with a colleague, and you all become super charged and energized?

Energy flows from our brains into our gestures, transmitting ideas to the next person and exchanging knowledge. It amazes me how a complex but very simple practice like yoga can do wonders to the mind and body.

I believe that yoga is the medicine to any ailment. Yoga acts as a propeller to move us forward in life and through our days.

As a person who strives to practice yoga everyday, I’m here to say that it’s not fun. I don’t think I ever woke up one morning, to stretch out and think to myself how excited I am to practice yoga at the studio this morning. But my body started knowing that it needs it, after a few years. Getting dressed, into my car, and practicing everyday, is not fun. But as we tell our kids, it’s good for you, I would say the same about yoga. The mind is our tool and we can condition our minds to do the hard task.

Know that yoga loves you back, it doesn’t matter how sculpted your tummy is or how fit you looked in that dress/suit. Yoga is about expanding your mind into a place unexplored, all within you. The beauty of this practice is the resourcefulness it holds for us, yoga essentially if practiced in the individual’s space, is completely for free. The expensive bill in yoga, is taking the initial step to drive yourself to actually do it, just do it. Notice how the most famous Just Do It slogan from Nike does not say You Can Do it. Pause the mind and move the body.


The Discipline

Humans have been practicing yoga since ancient times, proving it as a successful practice. Yoga enhances our well being, improving our health, and sharpening our minds. 


Vulnerability Attached to Yoga

The truth is, that being vulnerable requires an enormous amount of strength to realize the fight in order to turn a new leaf. This vulnerability, the sweat, muscles shaking, spams in breath or thought, is a tough road that leads to strength. To get to that level of durability means to sit with self, and to sit with self requires strength. I believe that we are all capable of opening up once we overcome the fear of vulnerability. Yoga teaches you to fall down and stand up stronger.
