LightBox Expo event in Pasadena Convention Center opened their doors for the first annual event over the weekend from Friday September 06 till Sunday, September 08, 2019. This event is a big deal, inviting talented individuals and artists to network across three days.

Bobby Chiu and Emerald City Comic Con Founder Jim Demonakos, teamed up to launch LightBox Expo. Over 250 artists attended from TV, live-action, animation, illustration, and gaming industries all under one roof. Attendees from all over the world met their favorite movie makers and artists across multiple industries. Connecting with industry leaders is important for career growth, Lightbox event hosted way over one thousand students and professionals attended the convention. This event works for all personality types. For extroverted personalities and introverted ones, including activities to fit both characteristics. LightBox is an event is packed with panels, portfolio reviews, instructed life drawing, live demos, special programming, there is a ton of exploration to do. Youtubers and influencers were invited to table and finally meet their fans in person to share laughs and advice. More people were invested in the workshops. You can attend the talks at the other building, every room had a crowded audience.
Overall, this event was a major success, giving a platform for folks to network, and meet in real life, as we live most of it online, on our desks, with coworkers on the same project, this event is a chance to meet people from different mediums, perspectives, and industries.
LightBox is the umbrella-event that brings creatives together to catch up with industry legends and famous internet artists, this is the place to see them in person. My favorite thing to do at these events is sharing stories on what’s new in the industry, connecting, and learning more from independent artists and company booths.
The event is for anyone who wants to network, share stories, submit to company roles, and get critique from top leaders on animation portfolios, or talk to people and explore career journeys. The founder of Lightbox Expo, Bobby Chiu and Jim Demonakos created an event that brings creators together. A ton of people showed up across the span of three days, and the results were remarkable. People flew in from all over the world to be at the convention in Pasadena, CA. The event was a wide success all credit goes to the organizers, building exceptional customer service and user experience for all attendees.
